Chopsticks
I'm baaaaack and going to talk about.....
My lunch.
Doesn't that sound exciting?
Actually, it was the first meal we had together as a family in WEEKS. Me, Z and Arianna and we went to my favorite Chinese restaurant. Well, mine and Ari's favorite. Z was a grumpybutt and I don't know why, and I don't like grumpybutts when I'm trying to enjoy my food, ok? And I love this place. It's family owned and you know its good because real CHINESE people come here to eat. And I love the pan fried dumplings. They. Are. To. Die. For. They are so good, in fact, that... well.... just talking about them? Makes me want more. Now.
So, there I sit, happily eating my happy food with chopsticks after the millionth lesson for Ari on the proper use of chopsticks. My poor baby is all thumbs.
See, as I was putting away my food, watching my daughter mutilating hers with her chopsticks and inadvertantly seeing my spouse's shit mood, I found myself fascinated with her repeated tries. In the end, when she started harpooning them I told her to just use the fork.
Her repeated tries at using them amused and impressed me. Which got me to wondering....
Does anyone out there in Blogland have any bright ideas on a way for me to teach her to use them? She is really lacking the coordination to do it, but not the determination.
So, while I concoct a real proper blog post, and answer some questions and whatnot, I was wondering if you could all put your collective imaginations together and come up with something?
Or should I just let her stick to the fork?

I Like Catrina's suggestion. Here they have chopsticks for little kids that are connected at the top and have cute animal designs. Would I be able to send some to you?

Ask the server for trainers. If they don't have them, you can make your own. All you need is a straw wrapper and a rubberband. Fold the wrapper in half again and again until it is about as long as it is wide. Put it in between the two chopsticks about 1/4 - 1/3 of the way down and use the rubberband to hold it in place. Wrap it in an x shape across/over the edges of the paper sticking out on the sides. Works like a charm and is easy-peasy.
