Oh no!

I had a rather frightening revelation of sorts recently that I didn't have time to blog about, although I meant to. I've just been so busy and all... I remembered it, even more frighteningly in the shower a little while ago. I just have to share it, terrifiying as it is.

Yes, I was in the shower, letting my mind wander as I sudsed up my hairas I often do. I get some of the best blog ideas there, where I can't do godddamn thing about it. But I digress.

So there I was...and I thought about my rather sadly comic life, and I thought that just the shit about Monster alone could give me 10 seasons of a sitcom, you know? She's a lot like that horny landlady from 3rd Rock from the Sun. Dresses like her too. Even Z says so. Anyhow, then I remembered that there revelation I had a few weeks ago.

Z and I have become Al & Peg Bundy, kinda. (Ok, I'll wait for Cat to pick herself off the floor and stop laughing) We are an upscale version of the Bundy's.

Now I don't dress like that or have that big of hair OR eat bonbons all day and I love to cook. I'm a GOOD COOK, Y'all! Z dresses better too, because, DUH, I wouldn't let him dress like that and he doesn't sell shoes. Don't I WISH? haha. (And Ari doesn't dress like a slut) Anyhoooo, there are a few similarities though. Like Al's reaction when Peg wants sex. Yeah. Painfully familliar that. And when Peg wants to go somewhere or do something. Uh-huh. Ouchy. Z sits in front of the TV zoned after work just like Al. But for the hand down the pants, it's kinda eerie.

Y'all may be wondering what triggered this relization. I mean, who would want to admit (albeit sadly) that they've become like that? Other than me, that is.

Well, we were flipping through cable tv and, for lack of anything better, came across an episode of Married With Children halfway through the episode. Right when Peg was trying to hint for a little nookie from that Al basssard. Z said to me "Hey Peg!!!" and I said "Yes AL?" which made him stop laughing at calling me Peg cause he got a good look at Al.

heh. I do what I can. It didn't make my realization that he had pretty much hit the nail on the head any easier to stomach, though. It hit me with the force of a sledgehammer and decidely startling. And all that?

Is TERRIFYING.
The Pirate Wench

Yo ho ho and a bottle (or two) of rum!

Aye aye me hearties! ScarlettCyn the Pirate Wench at your service.

Well, I'm a pirate wench as a result of the quanity and quality of rum I consumed last night. At least I think I qualify as one. Sure feels like it, that's for sure!

I love rum. Almost as much as I love Amaretto di Sarenno. So imagine how happy I was to go to my friend Katie's BBQ last night and see the hard liquor on the table with not just Bacardi BUT Malibu... and a bartender of sorts behind it all! (What? It had been a very rough week, and I was feelin a little sinus-ey)

Yes, I was officially, completely and totally SHITFACED DRUNK OFF MY ASS for the first time in my life.. And I didn't even intend it to happen that way (or so fast). Allow me to explain.

I woke up yesterday with a mild fever and some aches and pains and a runny& congested nose. I felt like utter hell. My boss wanted to send me home, but I refused. SO he compromised by letting me leave somewhat on time.(4:45) By then I was slightly better, went home, changed, got Z and Ari and drove back into town to Katie's place. Up onto the roof we went to the pool area. (she lives in a fancy schmancy apt bldg). What was the nicest part of the evening is that when Katie saw me coming up the steps, she hopped up from where she was sitting, SQUEALED and literally RAN AT TOP SPEED to me and gave me the biggest hug I've had in AGES. About 25 people stared at our little spectacle. But Lord above, did I feel so loved by that greeting. I don't know that I've ever had such a greeting excecpt by Arianna when she was younger (or now when it's time to pay allowance).

She had caterers there and there was a BARTENDER making really simple drinks. (Screwdriver, champagne, wine, hard liquor on ice, etc..). I got happy seeing the Bacardi and also a bottle of Malibu. (because Im really fond of Rum) So, since everywhere else I've gone no one bothered to have rum, I. got. happy. I figured I would start easy and get a wussy drink like Rum and Coke.

BIIIG mistake.

See, it was pretty dark, and I couldn't see very well. So I had no idea how strong it was. But it was tasty, and I polished it off after a time. I couldn't see that said rum and coke was about the color of weak iced tea. Uh-huh. By halfway through the second one, I figured I was pretty spacy, then I rememberd I hadn't eaten ANYTHING since the night before and it was now around 7:30pm. Katie kept it coming and by the end of the 3rd one, I was honest enough to admit I was well and truly wasted. She asked me in front of the smiling bartender "another one? Let me get you another one! To which I said "I think I'd better wait for the food, then maybe later" to which the GRINNING bartender looked at me coquettishly and said "But I have another TRIPLE right here waiting for you!".

Shit. He's been feeding me TRIPLES in HIGHBALL GLASSES on an empty stomach? OH MY GOD. Lets put it this way. I had to go to the ladies room and Ari helped me navigate down two sets of stairs during which time I kept thinking "Maaan am I wasted! Wheeee!" and frankly, I have no recollection how much time I sat there with what I am quite sure was a lame expression on my face but she was hovering outside the door saying "mom?????" a few times. I finally went back. by the time I got back, it was just about time for food. I ate and began to feel a bit better... right about the time Katie, my darling Katie whipped out the bottle she had hidden for me of Amaretto.

Katie fixed me 4-5 fingers or so worth on-erm-with some ice, personally. And like I can turn down amaretto? Um, no.I didn't turn down the other 3 she gave me either come to think of it.

I discovered that I am well and truly entertaining when I am drunk and immensly funny too. I think I was doing impromtu stand up in the middle of everyone.

Halfway through the rum and coke's earlier, I found a lovely older scottish gentleman and we were chatting. Actually, I would have talked about just about anything just to keep hearing that accent. Later, his 20 something son and I were chit chatting. (when I was drunk off my ass).

I was beyond tipsy.

I vaguely can recall buts and pieces of the drive home. I do remember stripping and diving under the covers, but not much after that.

I woke up pretty clear headded today, surprisingly.

Who was the sucker that asked me a few Inquisitions ago if I'd ever been drunk? Well, now you know. I turn into a comedian and performer.

Aren't you devestated you missed seeing it?

Wish You Were Here!

I've got some really fun and cool co-workers, y'all.

There is this really pretty and very serious and straight (or so I thought) girl I work with. She is always so very reserved and professional almost to the point of being a wee bit snooty.

Well, let me tell you I soon took care of that!

Yesterday she was standing in front of my desk and I don't remember exactly what it was we were talking about, but I said something a wee bit outrageous as usual and her eyes got the size of saucers and she cracked up and ended up laughing long, loud, and hard (2 of my favorite things!*wink*) hanging over the counter in front of me eventually wiping a bit of moisture from her eyes. I felt a perverse sense of satisfaction to have made her laugh like that.

Apparently it was just the icebreaker she needed.

Case in point today. She called me about something or other and I answered her question. Then I asked if her supervisor was there with her, because I had been looking for him to give him a message. She said yes and so I asked to talk to him. This was my reply:

"Yes, he's here, but he's in the middle of showing his thing......erm..... GASP!!!!!!!!" followed by a big ole GUFFAW from her which made me completely lose the composure I was barely hanging onto by a thread from the minute she said "he's in the middle of showing his thing....". At least I was not alone doing laps in the gutter, mind to mind.

La la la la la. See? Don't y'all wish you were working with me? One schmuck heard me talking to my boss, the CEO of the bank on the phone, and, well, I talk to him the same way I would talk to you, basically because he likes me just the way I am, which is professional and blah blah in front of guests, etc.. but, well, Real with a capital R with him. So, this fella was watching me all goggle eyed talking on the phone to him and when I hung up he said " Aren't you afraid of him?" and I was immediately completely confused as to just what the fuck he was talking about, so I replied with what I am sure was one of the most truly befuddled looks you've ever seen on my face "Scared of who?" and he said "Your boss. How straighforward you speak with him" I said "Why on Earth would I be scared of him?"

My poor boss. He is SO not the kind of boss to be terrified of the whole day long. True, I wouldn't want him pissed or anything, but still!

So, every now and then I have a real good chuckle, even if it is ME cracking myself up.

Wish you were here! Truly.

Off My Chest- Finally.

It really is an apt title for this post, I promise. Because I really must get this off my chest once and for all. 'Cross Your Heart' my sweet ass.

I. Hate. Bras.

They are a necessary evil. If I could? I would go without one more often than not. But unfortunately? That is just a long denied fantasy. That and my other fantasy of wearing strapless, or spaghetti strap, or a one-shoulder top. Or even a halter top for that matter.

I think the last time I wore a halter top was in 3rd grade. Right about the time these suckers came in.

Mind you, they didn't come in THIS big right away, but big enough, dammit. (Thanks for that little bit of DNA, Nana. I look just like you did, which is fine by me, but did I HAVE to get the bosom too? *wail*)

Some of you may be wondering what brought on my rant at bras all of a sudden. Well, it isn't so all of a sudden so much as it is my voicing of my irritation.

What brought all this on is the pain. Today I'm having a bit of a hard time moving my left arm even the slightest little bit and it's grating on my last nerve. Well, that and while talking with one of my best friends about ripping around in the morning in your under things trying to get ready for work, I realize that I realize I neglected to mention that I usually wait till the last minute to put it on and really can't wait to get my gorgeous bras off.

Because they really are special, my bras. I make sure that I wear the prettiest bras I can find in a G cup, believe me! But even so, the pleasure I get from feeling the pretty things and seeing them against my skin does nothing whatsoever against the pain I incur that is really beginning to get to me. Ok. It has gotten to me. Period. For example, ever since last summer, I have been having the most mind numbing (but not numb enough, unfortunately) blinding pain that shoots from my left shoulder, up my neck and into my head with just about any movement at all and makes even ME gasp out loud with it. Me. The woman with the high pain threshold. The pain is so bad it feels like it is deep in my bone radiating through the muscle. I think I've got a pinched nerve or something.

If anyone touches my left shoulder (Which for some reason? EVERYONE seems to want to greet me with a smack to my left shoulder. WHY IN THE HELL IS THAT?) This presents another small problem. I like to sleep on my side, when I'm not sleeping semi-face down. My LEFT side in particular. That is pretty much impossible now. I just know my left boob is the cause of all the pain. Pain that feels like some damn Viking Berserker has just swung a sword into you and left the *$#^&&*% thing there. Pain killers and/or muscle relaxers don't work. I know what would help me.

A slight breast reduction and a lift.

Now before the men that read my blog start sobbing uncontrollably (and you know who you are. Don't make me name names, hmmm?) I'm not talking about drastic loss of mass here. But I would like to have something semi normal. Of course, to me, normal is a D cup. Hahaha.

I'm serious. Don't believe me?

Once upon a time when I was stuck in the exam room with a sleeping baby Arianna, I became bored out of my mind… which is when my curiosity got the better of me…. So I plopped first one, then the other on the baby weighing scale. Imagine my surprise (and the expletive muttered quietly under my breath) to discover that each one weighed around 12.5lbs. You do the math, because it frankly makes me look down at myself in wonder.

Anyway, that was then, and the suckers were slightly smaller-slightly- and that was 24lbs I was supporting on MY SHOULDERS. It's kind of like having a fat toddler sitting on your chest and hanging on by the shoulders all the time. I figure it's probably closer to 26 or so now.

So. My Good Samaritan deed for the month is this: if you have smaller breasts. If you have average sized breasts and have always wanted to have implants. I BEG you… don't do it sistah. Just say no, like the Nike commercial. I also have one itsy comment.

Are you out of your damn mind? They're more hassle than they are worth.

Cheryl b. Stop sobbing now. They aren't going anywhere for the time being.

I think I'll sign out now and go scrounge up a nice strong pain pill, pray for a little relief and go pass out in my bed.

Good night. *whimper*

PS: Get a question in y'all. I have a Inquisition/Confession post almost ready for posting. You've got 24 hours…… GO!

Chopsticks

I'm baaaaack and going to talk about.....

My lunch.

Doesn't that sound exciting?

Actually, it was the first meal we had together as a family in WEEKS. Me, Z and Arianna and we went to my favorite Chinese restaurant. Well, mine and Ari's favorite. Z was a grumpybutt and I don't know why, and I don't like grumpybutts when I'm trying to enjoy my food, ok? And I love this place. It's family owned and you know its good because real CHINESE people come here to eat. And I love the pan fried dumplings. They. Are. To. Die. For. They are so good, in fact, that... well.... just talking about them? Makes me want more. Now.

So, there I sit, happily eating my happy food with chopsticks after the millionth lesson for Ari on the proper use of chopsticks. My poor baby is all thumbs.

See, as I was putting away my food, watching my daughter mutilating hers with her chopsticks and inadvertantly seeing my spouse's shit mood, I found myself fascinated with her repeated tries. In the end, when she started harpooning them I told her to just use the fork.

Her repeated tries at using them amused and impressed me. Which got me to wondering....

Does anyone out there in Blogland have any bright ideas on a way for me to teach her to use them? She is really lacking the coordination to do it, but not the determination.

So, while I concoct a real proper blog post, and answer some questions and whatnot, I was wondering if you could all put your collective imaginations together and come up with something?

Or should I just let her stick to the fork?

Loser Blogger of the Week

Hi. That would be me. I'm bad I know.

I thought I would get my you-know-what together this week, but so far, it's a no go.

I'll try and get a proper post, ie: answers to my Inquisition questions in later tonight. I promise I'll try.

Meanwhile, a PSA: IF you have a 1 month old kitten? It's a really Good IDEA NOT to wear medium size shiny gold hoop earrings while he lays on your chest and is in a playful mood.

TRUST ME ON THIS, HMmmmmmm????

Until later my loves, Au revoir!

Enlightenment

Holy S--t!

I was just filling out my overtime sheet for work and totalled up my OT hours for the month to date.

68.75 hours of overtime.

No wonder I'm so damn tired. Jeesh.

Also? I was wondering if anyone could dig a hole for me to crawl into for the duration? I will admit I'm feeling a bit sheepish at the moment and want to lay low.

I bet you're ALL wondering what I've done that could make me say such, huh?

Well, talking to my boss about our Chairman of the Board, well, he is an extremely handsome older gentleman- about some photos from the meetings and he told me to pick the best ones for printing, and I said "well, he is very attractive, so this will be difficult to pick one or two. Look how photogenic he is!" Then a male head of dept who was in the room said 'As a man, even I will admit he is very good looking!" and I said "ok, He's really handsome, then." (HE IS! and SUCH a gentleman.) to which my boss replied "Oh boy! I'm gonna tell him you think so!" while getting the same cheeky grin on his face of a 5-year-old boy. I said "NO!" and he said "I'm going to tell him! So? The whole Board has a crush on you anyway!! They even love your name."

*blush*

Peek-A-Boo!!!

Hi there everyone! *waves**air kiss*

For the record, no, I didn't/wasn't: a) drown b) fall off a cliff (cause, hello? I live in a cliff-less place, y'all!) c) end up in a coma d) have temporary amnesia e) break any fingers on either hand (cause really, I'd use my tongue or toes if I had to!To POST! To POST!) or f) anything else you can come up with in your fertile imaginations.

I've been so damn busy y'all. It's disgusting how busy. Yes. Too busy and dead to blog even. Shame on me. (Does it help I felt all guilty about it even in my sleep because I really LURVE MY BLOG READERS? That things happened and I thought 'Oh, I gotta blog THIS!'?) Good. But, when I tell you all WHY, you will forgive and send me kisses and hugs and all sorts of good things like that.

Ready? Sure? hold on to your chairs. I don't want anyone getting hurt from the shock or anything....

I've been working 12-15 hr days, even on my weekend at my temporary-could-be-permanent-if-we-want job. There was a Board Meeting, and last minute guess who had to do EVERYTHING? Moi. No biggie, cause I can handle it. (granted, sleep would help, but still!)

So, I charmed the hell out of the Board of Directors, they tried to swipe me from my boss, the CEO just to deal with them and he said "Um, no. She's MINE!". They all complimented me, or him on me, I'm not sure which, the meeting went off without a hitch. (Ok, one small one, but SO not anything I could do. Damn hotel) and ......he was all happy. so.... between the Directors thinking I'm all that and a bag of chips and my long hours, and my general stuff and hard work.....

As of yesterday? I'm PERMANENT! YES INDEEDY! I'm A KEEPER! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!! lalalalalalallalalalalaLALALAlalalala.

Blah blah blah. Good Employment package, lots of goodie benefits, kick ass end-of year bonus, I'm getting a Junior Manager title and my own ASSISTANT Y'ALL!!! And? He put me in charge of the Executive Offices as well. He put me- A woman with SERIOUS OCD and a slight, but complusive control freak streak- IN CHARGE. Because: "I like your ways". Hehehheheheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! He wants me to find my own assistant and said "I'll be happy if you can get someone 70% as good as you". Awwwwwwww. That's sweet.

*WHOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!* (OH NO! Janet Jackson's "Control" is in my head now!MAKE IT STOP!)

Thank God about the Assistant thing. Cause this overtime thing is kicking my ass, seriously.

Now for the good stuff you came here for:

Blogging Ideas I didn't get time or have energy to post when I thought of it:

1) Speaking of a Jackson........ Z watching the interview of M. Jackson's parents (you know, wacko Jacko?) and they asked them "how much plastic surgery has Michael had?" and they said "Oh, just one. His nose." (They are SO GOING TO HELL FOR THAT LIE.) and they say "It's called maturation- that is why he looks different" Z says to me "Hell, did they mean EVOULOUTION?" to which I laugh my tired ass off because, he is RIGHT.

2) Garfield's eyes are open now- he is damn fat and I love it- and how hilarious it is to watch him and Bandit beat the crap out of each other, pushing and shoving each other upside the head and body slamming like a mosh pit (and Garfield has got serious booty/leverage now and sends Bandit rolling) over ONE nipple to nurse from instead of just choosing one of the other 15. It's like watching the 3 stooges with Larry missing. Exactly like it.

3) Max, their OBVIOUSLY HORNY FATHER, is trying to knock up Miss Scarlett (Not ME! MY CAT! Garfiee's mom) and I so broke that up. Was that mean of me? Tough shit dude. because......

4) Isis (Angel & Scarlett's Mama) looks like SHE will give birth any day now and really, enough is enough. How do I know? She is trying to sneak into my closet and Arianna and I caught her trying Ari's closet day before yesterday!

5) I got an A+ on my Geography internet reasearch homework for 5th grade the other day. (Didja catch that? Heh. Mine my sweet butt!) Aren't you all proud? I always liked Geography. Heh. (Thank GOD it wasn't Math! *shudder, gag*)

6) SURVIVOR Pilau a.k.a. Survivor Season XVIIXVI (hahahahah) started on Friday! Am I alone in wanting to toss the older lady singing her made up Survivor song over the side of the damn boat? I'm just wondering. It got on my last nerve.

7) American Idol. Is Good. And? What the HELL IS WRONG WITH PAULA's FACE?? It's like Botox gone SERIOUSLY WRONG. Is it just me? W.T.F.????????? She used to be such a pretty thing.

8) I heard a funny comment, speaking of Paula..... Someone asked a celebrity "Who do you think takes more TrimSpa? Anna Nicole or Paula Abdul??? Hmmmmmm now that is a toughie. Yes indeedy. He guessed Anna Nicole. I say it's a draw. But... who is with me shouting BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!! when you hear Anna say "I lost Allllll that weight only taking TrimSpa and NOT WORKING OUT UNTIL JUST NOW THAT I"M ALL SKINNY AND STUFF." Please girlfriend. If that is so, send me a case of that shit and give me the name of your plasic surgeon, because there is no way you lost all that weight that fast and don't have ANY saggy skin to show for it. And I know you don't cause I've seen E! Channel (LOVE IT) and you mostly nekkid in undies now. And my mouth is still hanging open in shock about it too. Well, that and Z's comment that "NO! POOR BABY! BE NICE SHE DIDN"T DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!". *Smacks head*-me-his- Me: *much gagging and disgusted snorts ensue*

That's enough for now.

I'll answer any questions given today and the one or two I got last week and couldn't answer.

I missed you babies! I really did!!!!!!!!!

SMOOCHIES FOR YOU ALL!

Be Mine

Happy V-Day everyone!

This will be a short and sweet post. I have really only one thing to say to you, my readers, today on Valentine's Day..........

"Will you all be my Valentines?" *hug*

PS: 1) HELLO!? QUESTIONS PEOPLE! QUESTIONS!
2) Kitten Update:My blue point Himalayan's eyes are open today! He's a little piggie and HUGE. And I love him. He turned 2 weeks on Sat. Garfield, the Red one is doing fine and, well, pigging out incessantly. I love him too. He is damn vocal, btw.

Flattered

This post will be in response to a comment I received from Mare the other day. It might just possibly get some reader's panties in a bunch. Actually, it probably will. But Mare touched on a topic that I've actually considered writing about for a while now and I really want to reply to it. I was actually flattered that Mare was wondering what I would think about this situation that has obviously gotten her irritated and wanting to comment to the person concerned. So, I'll give my two cents worth.

Besides, it's my blog and I can write whatever the hell I want! La la la la la la la la la. See above? Under the blog name? It says I've got an opinion and I'm going to share it. Because sharing is caring. Heh.

So then. This is Mare's comment regarding a 17 year old friend of her little sister's who has gotten herself knocked up.

"…I'd just love to tell her that babies aren't fun, babies are work, and that being special when you're pregnant just makes it all the sadder when nobody gives a damn about you after the baby's born (I've heard young girls like that will get pregnant for the attention), but then I figure, it's too late for her so why say anything. Then I was wondering what you'd think about it, but I really don't know why."

Well Mare, I couldn't agree with everything you said more; perhaps the only difference is I think babies are also fun.

They are amazing, although you are totally right about them being work, and lots of it, but they are also oh so much fun. I adore babies. They are not fun in the way that a baby doll is fun and I really don't think that the majority of 17 year olds are ready enough or mature enough or responsible enough to become parents. There is ONE very special exception to this rule that I have seen with my own two eyes and that would be my friend Catrina who posts here on my blog. Cat got pregnant when she was 18 and I must say, she really was/is the most amazing, dedicated and wonderful mother. I am so very proud of her and the beautiful daughter she has raised who is now 13! But Cat is a rare exception to the rule. Then again, she was very mature for her age and always very responsible too. Her younger sister also got pregnant young and at the time, she was not an ideal mother. I know for a fact that her irresponsibility for her child drove Catrina bonkers a big part of the time. Now then.

I have KNOWN young girls that want to get pregnant just for the attention or thinking that it would trap a boyfriend into staying with them. *shakes head* and that is just plain ridiculous. I had a friend throughout High School that thought this way and half the time I wanted to shake her senseless. After graduation, she did end up getting pregnant and was a very dedicated mother to her 3-4 kids (last I saw) but I was extremely thankful that she didn't get pregnant in school. She wanted the attention. Craved it. And was forever caressing her abdomen wishing for a baby. (Ok, never mind that I do that whole caressing/wishing thing sometimes now- I’m 33 and infertile! HELLO! Slight difference, no? Yeah!) She even had phantom pregnancies. Yes, my slapping urge was still strong.

Actually, my slapping urge is still strong… in particular for the mom of the triplets I mention so often, for instance.

Those babies are more of something to brag about and get attention for, it seems, and not only to me, either. Neither the mom or father spend much time with them. Minutes at a time is all. I've never seen them spend more than 5 minutes with their triplets and I'm over there a LOT. Half the time when I go over, I say hello and go straight to their room and end up playing with the babies for 30-40 minutes at least. She has 3 nannies/maids and the babies cry for the nannies when their mom holds them, whenever that is. Yet she brags about being Supermom all the time, having triplets and a 3 year old. "I'm a Supermom!" (me: *gagging*)When I see only the 3 year old getting any attention at all. She only bathes the triplets, and that is about it excecpt for telling anyone who will listen that she has triplets and a 3 year old blah blah blah. She leaves work at 3 in the afternoon and has loads of time to spend with them but doesn't. My hand itches frequently. When they were sick, I would take care of them. And when the youngest of them developed a chest infection, even the nannies commented on the fact that I noticed it and insisted on the doctor's visit, not the child's mother. I'm sorry, but a supermom is a woman that works, does laundry, cleans the house, cooks, and takes care of the kids. Especially a supermom of 4 kids under 3. Not someone with 3 nannies/maids to cook, clean, do laundry, stay up with the kids when they are sick and crying all night, dress them, bathe them usually, play with them and feed them and make fresh baby food daily and keep them on a strict time schedule. I've heard her, on the few times she takes them out, come back from an excursion to the mall and say "wow, I feel like such a celebrity!". This is someone that craves attention normally. *sits on hand*

Attention and bragging rights. Talk about being pregnant for the wrong reason. I've seen women get pregnant for some very screwed up reasons.

Now for my–probably- very controversial comments, as if what I've already said wasn't bad enough. I am speaking my mind, and from the view of a woman that adores children, is a very dedicated mother, and a woman that has suffered reproductive problems for her whole adult life and cannot get pregnant without medical intervention. Is everyone ready? God I hope so.

Now I am speaking generally, and, before anyone pipes up, religious beliefs aside.

Teenagers should not be getting pregnant at all. If they are going to have intercourse, they should ALWAYS use a condom. Not just to prevent pregnancy, but for other STD's as well. For their health. Both of them.

I do not believe there is any such thing as an 'accidental' or unplanned pregnancy. Not. At. All. The only real 'oopsy' accidental pregnancy is ONLY, ONLY, ONLY!(!) in the case of rape victims. Seriously, here's a newsflash: If you are having sex, unprotected on either side-male or female- there is no accident. You had sex and guess what? You COULD get pregnant. Funny how that works, huh? Duhhhhh. If you don't want a (or another) baby? Figure something out, pronto. Before you get horizontal and all aroused and mindless, hmmmm? Or just. don't. do. it.

I think I've mentioned it before. I worked with a newlywed here for a few years. Within 2 months she was pregnant and WHINING CONSTANTLY. I mean incessantly. But up until her pregnancy, she was regaling us all with how much sex they were having. ALL THE DAMN TIME. I'm serious. She would stroll in late to work and say "sorry I 'm late. We were having sex…. Again". (gee, thanks for sharing honey.) Then she kept saying after she was preggers, "How can I be pregnant? I don't want to be pregnant! It's too soon!!!!!! I'm not READY TO BE A MOM!" over and over again. Finally one day, I had heard enough of this and I kind of snapped and said "Look N, if you didn't want to be pregnant, then you should have kept your legs shut! You're pregnant now because you were doing it like rabbits and not using anything to prevent it and you are obviously fertile. Of COURSE YOU GOT PREGNANT!" She looked at me and said "yeah, huh?". Now granted, this was during one of my IVF trials that failed, and she knew it, but still! Jeez.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Now for my next comment, please remember that I have fertility issues, ok?

Regarding sterilization. Lots of people have children and then decide they don't want any more. I envy people like this, I really do. People that get pregnant practically by breathing on each other. Ok, perfectly understandable. They are married (or not. whatever) and decide enough is enough. The woman just doesn't want to carry any more children. Fine. I have seen it time and again. My question is this? Why is it they insist on the MAN getting fixed? I personally don't agree with this. This is why.

If a woman really doesn't want to carry any more children and would really like to be getting it on with no protection, then why not tie her tubes? In the long run, this is much easier should people change their minds later on. How so you may wonder? Believe me, I've thought this out. Pay attention now.

If a man ties his tubes, this really affects his sperm amount and quality and motility. Forever. Say later he and his wife change their minds and want to have one last child or he remarries? Can you say nightmare? There is not a shit lot the doctors can do with poor quality, sluggish low count sperm. Sure it only takes one, but….. (I have seen a couple I know here going through this. It's her first marriage, but late in life, and she has reproductive issues, on top of this, it is his SECOND marriage, he has children by the first wife, and he got fixed. Now he wants a child with this second wife, but they have a double problem now. His sperm count, which was amazing before, is almost non-existent now. Very low count, low motility, low quality. Just. LOW.) They keep trying, doing IVF, but his sperm count is really not helping things at all. He told Z that he really regrets his decision those years ago. It seemed like the right one at the time, but now? Not so much.

Lets put the tied tubes on the other foot, shall we?

If the woman tied her tubes, it would essentially make her reproductive tract like MINE! Ie: no babies unless you worked your ass off for it and paid through the teeth to get one. Lots of nookie and no baby to show for it. Isn't that basically what they want? Lots of sex with no consequences? La la la la la la la mmmmmm. A woman who is of childbearing age could always do IVF if she wanted another baby at a later time. That way the fallopian tubes don't come into play at all and are totally unnecessary. Plus, you would REALLY have to want another baby to go the whole IVF route anyway, and it would therefore be a very planned, very wanted pregnancy.

I'm speaking as a woman with fertility issues, but who has a child. So it is not bitter barrenness speaking so much.

So I say this: If a couple doesn't want any more children than the ones they have, the woman should seriously consider tying her tubes. (I'm probably going to get serious hate mail for this one, I swear!) It really is the easiest one to undo successfully…. Just in case, because… well, you never know what the future holds in store for you, now do you? Now doesn't that make sense?

Now. For those women who whine (within my earshot, anyway) about getting pregnant so easily "oh, my husband just LOOKS at me and I'm pregnant! I hate it" I have one last thing to say to them.

Shut. The. Hell. Up. You. Lucky. Goddamn. Cow. It is a blessing to be able to get pregnant and that you are be able to do so easily. There are lots and LOTS of women out there just like me who would LOVE to be able to get pregnant and who go through holy hell to just try. Mental and physical hell, over and over again.

Well Mare, how is that for a reply honey? God help anyone that wants to pick my brain, huh?

Happy Birthday Wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is my Mama's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA! I LOVVVVVVEEEE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mama turns a number that she would kill me for announcing over the internet. I don't know why, since I honestly don't think she looks anywhere near her age. My mama is boo-tee-ful. Purdy. Get it?

Don't belive me? Men 20 years younger chase her down and try to date her. And her figure is still very nice too! And mama hasn't had that facelift she dreams about either! Her smile is like the sun on a dreary day and there is this lively twinkle in her eyes, even when she is sad and depressed.

I'm not just saying this cause she is my Mom, its the truth, all of it. She is a really special and loving lady who deserves to have a better life than the one she has had.

Anyway, Mama, poor thing, has a bad cold for her birthday, and that really sucks. I hope all of you will join me in singing Happy Birthday to her.

"Happy Birthday to you!Happy Birthday to You! Happy birthday Dear MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthdaaaaayyyyyy Tooooooo YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I love you Mama, more than words could ever say.But then you know that, don't you?

Love, forever and ever,
Friss

Checking In

Sorry it's been a while since I posted. Did anyone miss me?

I've been working 12-13hr days without a lunch break at this temporary-possibly could become permanant- job I found.

I've been hired for a one-month contract. Whoop-dee-doo. Well, it's better than sitting home I suppose.

The bank is an excellent one, with fantastic benefits. The boss I"m working for is the CEO and he's really a nice fella. My coworkers are nice also. I wouldn't mind being made permanent at all. I wish he would make up his mind. Jeez.

IF working these long hours don't convince him to keep me, then I'm hoping THIS will:

1) The General Manager of the bank took my boss, the CEO, aside and told him frankly that he doesn't need to keep interviewing candidates when the best person for the job is already sitting outside his office. He then told him "Give Cyn a month or so till she learns all the in's and out's of the bank and how it works, and then you see!" And my boss apparently agreed with him.

2) Before this, my boss was asking the GM something and I was pacing outside the open door to tell him some things... one of which was relating to the question he was asking about the religious holiday tomorrow.... I finally butted in and said "But I have the notification from the government offices here attached to a memo I drafted for you to sign (before he got in and knew anything)! (the GM winked at me when my boss turned around and grinned at me in shock) and then he said "well, come on to my office then!" he was shaking his head all the way there and said "How do you do that?" Me: "What?" "him, shaking head and still grinning"That! Did you take a course?" "Me: "Eh? for What?" Him: How is it you know just what I want when I want it or before I know I want it? Did you learn this in a special course or something?" Me" No. No course. It's just the way I am." He smiled and said "well that's great!"

3) A guy named J from AMEX Dubai (I've been talking on the phone to him and emailing to arrange a meeting, etc. He started out all formal, but then by the 3rd email it was HI CYN! He's from Indiana, been in Dubai for 20 years) flew in for a meeting and was having a lunch meeting with the CEO, my boss, gave me a compliment to my boss. He forgot to tell me until later when he called me on his way to the airport tonight to say "Oh, I meant to tell you I recieved a great compliment on you today during my lunch meeting." Me: "Oh really That is nice!" CEO" Yes, J told me how great you are and how professional and curteous and helpful and then he asked me how long you'd been with the bank and I said, "Um, 10 days." to which he replied "WOW! NO WAY! She is really amazing. I would never belive she was new!"then

*blush* I was really flabbergasted. while I was getting over that... he said "That is exactly what I want, someone that also is really great and professional and curteous on the phone and with visitors too! Someone gracious like you!"

Me: (in my head) "Well, duh. HELLO! So how bout keeping me then???"

Does this dude need a lightening bolt from the heavens to strike him to wake up? Good Lord.

So, in case you were all wondring what cave I'd wandered off to, now you know.

OH, and by the way? Here's an Inquisition question answer for you!

The Confession

I had one question this week. My punishment for not posting too much, huh? *pout*

My buddy Cheryl b still loves me, and so asked:

What's your favorite flower and what makes it your fave? Lame, I know, but I really need a nap.

My favorite flowers are the Iris. (I think that was some real poor grammar right there, but I'm too tired to give a damn right now.) Any color of Iris. The deep purple blue or the bright purple or even the paler lavender colored ones. I love them with their yellow centers. They are tall and graceful and so pretty, even though they really don't smell.

I love Irises and fuschia pink or bright yellow roses. Give me those flowers (together! WHOOT!) and I'm a happy girl. I love those colored roses even more than red roses. I prefer them actually. I appreciate red roses for their beauty, but they don't get me all excited if you know what I mean.

I'm weird I guess. But that's me.

Hopefully next week will be better for all of us!

2/06/2005

SURPRISE!!!

Y'all will never guess what's up!! Then again, maybe you will.

Got a nice little surprise tonight. Miss Scarlett started giving birth. In the litter box. Z found her with the kitten squalling and hanging out. I had NO IDEA she was due now. Z totally miscalculated her due date.

Oh allright. He convinced me I was wrong. I figured she was about a week or two apart from Angel. Does anyone remember that? Well anyhooo... Miss Scarlett? Wanna see how much she loves her Mama (Me)? She filled my order.

This kitten is RED. Yes. RED. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I've been wanting a red for 15 years. Yaaah. Whhooooooootttttt. Now? Lets hope it survives. (please GOD)

My girls were apparently listening to my orders! Yaay. I gave them a few options. Angel's little BOY looks like he is going to be a Blue-point Himalayan. Perhaps like this.

I'm willing to take nice suggestions for names. I wanted Lancelot (he's such a big little man), Arianna wanted Arthur (ie: King Arthur) and Z? He said HORRIBLE things like: Batman, Blueballs, etc....

HELP! We are at a loss. Bring em, on dear readers.

Also? My 'boss' the temp one, today said "yeah, while talking to my wife, she said "So when are you going to get an assistant, anyway?" and I said "Oh! I got this really nice young American girl."

Me: Gape mouthed in shock.......

He stares at me and I say finally, with a HUGE GRIN! "THANK YOU! You just made my, week...no, Month, no YEAR!" He gave me the same questioning look but with a smile... and I said "Young? American Girl? BLESS YOU!" and then...... then? I giggled.

I never giggle. Ok, well, I rarely giggle.

Heh. He called me YOUNG. He is exactly 10 years and 4 days older than me. BLESS HIM.

Also? I have an interview at another bank tomorrow afternoon.... 2 floors down from where I'm working in the same building.

When it rains, it pours!

Inquisition Confession – Week 16

My sweet darling readers…..

I'm so brain dead. I've started a temp job for at least a month the other day, but there is the possibility of it becoming permanent if God feels like smiling on me. Don't get me wrong. I'm so happy to be working it isn't even funny. Even though it is so stressful and I'm trying to learn a million things at once. I find pleasure in a job well done. Especially so in that my boss actually knows how to say THANK YOU. (I'll wait while you pick yourselves off the floor…) But still my brain is so deep fried and my whole body….. burns with pain (the size of the office I have to maneuver in is HUGE… I wish I could wear roller skates!) that I've had to type and re-type this sentence more times than I will ever admit to. So What? You may think.

Well, SO.. is that instead of working 7 hr days… I'm working 12 hour days instead. No lunch. Straight through. It is SO BUSY. My brain is fried like KFC. But still? I don't mind all that much. I'm just exhausted is all.

An Update: So far so good for the one remaining fuzzy baby. He/She is eating a lot – ok, constantly- and already the ears are getting dark and some of the fur on the face. YAAAAY! Looks like I might get a blue pointor seal point Himalayan. I am SO keeping this cat. HE is a miniature of it's Daddy, my big boy Maximus.

I suppose I should get right to the Q&A time, shouldn't I? Well….. alrighty then! *wink*

Cheryl b came up with:

This is not THE QUESTION, but when you move back to the states to live on the commune with me and the other ladies will you be able to bring your fur babies out of the country?

Here's THE QUESTION: are there any Bloggers that you have a crush on?

First things first Cheryl. The commune. I've had my bags packed forever. Last I heard you and Carrie Jo were going to come and kidnap me and not ask for ransom. What happened? *sniff, pout* I thought y'all dumped me!

*crickets chirping*

Ok. To your first question's answer. The one that isn't THE QUESTION. SURVEY SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYSSSSSSSSSSSSS………………………

Have cats, will travel. (ditto if I ever get a doggie) My pets are like my AMEX card. (Except I don't have one! An AMEX card, silly!) I brought cats with me when I moved here (Isis and her sister Princess) How many cats can say they had an overnight stay at Paris's EuroDisney? Mine can!

So…… yeah baybeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure there is plenty of space for my fuzzy ones on the commune, hmmm? They are awfully friendly, so don't worry.

Now for your REAL question. You know. THE question. *snicker*

Actually, all the ones on my 'blogroll'. A little secret? If I love your blog and read it? I save it in my favorites under "Loved and Adored Blogs".

I don't read just infertility blogs either. I read all sorts of blogs. Mommy Blogs, more Mommy blogs, Daddy blogs, other Daddy blogs,New Daddy-to-be blogs…. Wonderful-women-trying-to-adopt-blogs (aka: mommies in training), New Mommy blogs... women what wonder why the hell can't I do such a normal thing blogs. lovely-ladies- that-crack-my-ass-UP!-and- love-Harry Potter –like-me-and-aren't-afraid-to-admit-it-either blogs, Shoe addicts like me, or purse addicts with adorable puppies and puddytats that make me laugh so hard I almost pee my damn self blogs.

I have 'girl crushes' on two female bloggers: Ollie and Miss Doxie. Ollie is just, amazing, sweet and funny and so talented in ways I could only dream of. The cartoon.. whatever, "Adventures of Hormona…" is excellent and oh, so true. (I wanted to be her sidekick, but she wouldn't listen! *pouts* ) Oh well. At least she likes my Wand Monkey character. Miss Doxie is another one. She Cracks my ass up. Yes, with a capital 'C'. Her drunk posts actually give some other bloggers I know a run for their blog hits. I wish to GOD ABOVE she would post more often. (hint hint Doxie dahling!)

Ask anyone that knows me. I've got a huge capacity for love. Plenty to go around for everyone. I've got a little crush on my readers and BIG OLD CRUSHES on the ones that actually COMMENT on my blog every now and then too! So go on babycakes, crawl into my heart and get comfy. You're gonna be there for a while!

For the record, my blogroll includes so many more than the ones I linked to and it is growing every day… much like "The BLOB".

Now on to my next question from Catrina, who asked, okl her daughter asked……..:

Question: This one is from Jazzy.....Do you see any American soldiers where you live?

Well Jazzy, I sure do honey! Everywhere I turn too! While they are not in uniform but in regular clothes. It's kind of hard to miss them. They are EVERYWHERE. Bahrain is the base for the Navy's 5th fleet and there is a huge ass platoon or three of Marines stationed here also.

It's nice for me, because when I see them or hear them talking when they walk by, it's a little piece of home.

This week Mare asked me a really interesting question that made me look deep within myself.

Ok, here's a real question. Um…hmm…okay. Tell us some things you feel you must absolutely do (or places you must go) before you die.

Thinks I want to do.. HAVE to do or places I must go before I go to my extremely just reward for not offing the wicked witch of the Middle East…….hmmmmmmmm……

I would really like to have another child. Badly. (Duh. Like you all don't already know that! Silly me.) I want to own my own home. I don't particularly care where, as long as I have a place I can call my own so that I don't have to worry about where I will sleep at nights when I get old. IF I get old.

I want to write a book, and if I'm lucky, get my tail published! Actually, I would be happy to break the writer's block I have on the book I've started and have 12 chapters written. That would be nice. Maybe I will get an opportunity to publish my blog in book form. That would be cool. (Or turn it into a series?)

I want to take ballroom dancing and particularly quick-step classes. I want to learn to speak Italian. I would like to swim with dolphins. (I'm really serious here) And I'm determined to do it eventually too, even if I'm 70 or 80 (if I live that long)! And hold/pet a baby tiger or lion- a big cat, get the idea?- and a panda. (I love me some panda's y'all!) Have you ever seen a 'baby-toddler' panda bear? OH MY WORD. ADORABLE.

I want to see Stonehenge even though it is just a pile of rocks. The Pyramids at Giza. These places are awesome in that the people that created them had none of our knowledge, tools and conveniences and yet moved big ass rocks and monoliths over great distances that weighed hundreds of tons. And when they arrived at their destination? They moved them UP. Fascinating. I went to Persopolis in Iran and I was blown away. I went twice during the same trip in fact. It must have been something else before Alexander burned it down. I can only imagine it. I'm sure it was magnificent to behold.

I want to take a tour of castles-preferably exploring on my own, not only those touristy ones- even deserted ones and I plan to spend a night or two in one (the converted to hotel ones, naturally!).

I want to learn to snow ski. I don't know how. Knowing me? I'll probably break both legs. Anyone care to teach me how to ski? Or how to ice-skate even? Do I sound completely lame that I don't know how? *sigh* I want to ride on a Harley. I don't necessarily have to drive it, but at least ride on one.

I always said since I was about 7 years old that wanted to see a Siegfried & Roy show before one of them gets mauled. Damn, I never did get to see one. Does anyone remember when they used to have a show about once a year on TV? I was fascinated by it. The magic was cool, sure, but it was the big cats involved that impressed me. I'll just be you I know exactly how Roy Horn feels now. Those are his babies and, well, shit happens, ya know?

Places I want to go. I MUST go back to Scotland and properly explore. I also have to go to Ireland. MUST GO TO THESE TWO PLACES. Actually, honestly? I wouldn't mind being buried in either place. (I sure as hell don't wanna be buried HERE, that's for DAMN SURE.)

I have always wanted to see St. Petersburg. All over Italy. I want to go to the Caribbean again. I loved it. Preferably on a cruise ship again. I love taking cruises.

I want to see my Nana's house on Long Island, NY once more through my adult's eyes and the pond nearby I used to go with her to feed the ducks. I want to be held in my father's arms one more time and just 'be' for a little while.

How was that Mare? I know, I know, ask a simple question and get a long-ass answer. Well, you know me!

And that my dears brings this weeks' Inquisition to a close. I realize it took forever and a day to get my answers up and for that I humbly apologize. I'd like to suggest, since it is already SATURDAY, that you start giving me your questions from now for this week.

PS: Oh, and by the way? OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD
OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD OHMYGODOHMYGOD
OHMYGODOHMYGOD
OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD

I just found out that this wonderful blogger is accidentally pregnant-OOPSY!!!!!!!!!-without the nasty ffed up Clomid or anything else horrid. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY. (It gives idiots like me a shred, a frayed one mind you, but a tiny, itsy bitsy, teeeny weenie bit of hope.)

Congratulations Amy and Jason. I am really and truly happy for you. Much love and may you not fall down any more stairs, cause Amy honey? My name's Scarlett darling… NOT YOU! *Mwah, squishy hug*

Good heavens. Am I the only one NOT knocked up of the blogs I read?

Cat? Carrie Jo? Tag, you're IT!

Update and a Hint

Well, I think I'll just get right to it, shall I?

I started a temporary job that has the possibility of becoming permanent if I'm lucky. I worked an 11 hr day when it was supposed to be from 7:30-3:30. I crawled out of the office at 6:00. The boss is nice and the job, if it were permanent, would be fantastic!

Update on my furry grandchildren: I came home from work, burnt out mentally and with numb fingers (post another time about my first day, because it was freaking HILARIOUS) and found out that my little white runt kitten... was gone.

He-of-the-big-testicles passed away. I have no idea why. Z went to check on them and noticed him off in a seperate corner of the box, gone. He tried to take a page from my book and do CPR, but it didn't work.

That was yesterday. Now today I came home after another super long and hectic day and there was another one gone before I could do anything and a 3rd one not doing too well and barely breathing at all and not moving.

The one that was gone I couldn't do anything for but I started trying to massage the chest just to irritate the hell out of it and make (him) meow and use his lungs, even if he was pissed at me. He stopped breathing all of a sudden and I started my
CPR" on him, and got him breathing again. But he was so very weak (this while I'm listening to the suckling noises coming from the big GIANT fat kitten). This is becoming a habit, isn't it? My CPR on weak kittens. Man! Talk about feeling guilty. I finally go to work, and while I'm not on watch, my furry babies start dropping like flies.

Anyway, I got #3 meowing a bit and grabbing my hand as I cradled him in my palm, and he was breathing a little more steadliy. I just hope he continues to do so. I put him with Angel and she sniffed him and gave him kisses, so I figure if he didn't stand a chance, she would reject him.

Two down, one so-so, and one widdle piggie. *sigh*

Now then. On to my little hint.

Those of you that haven't gotten your questions in yet, even though it is WEDNESDAY (I KNOW, I KNOW!) can get your questions in till midnight tonight.

How's that?

My Quadruplets

Last night Angel went into labor.

I was sitting on the loveseat in my bedroom reading a book and she came and wedged herself in real tightly next to me and half on my lap. I didn't know at the time she was in labor. After a bit I noticed she couldn't seem to get comfortable and was real restless and she is purring non-stop. (she is NOT a purr machine normally) I look down at her and she is staring at me right in my eyes when I notice that at that moment her whiskers pulled together straight in front of her face. "NOW? On ME? Thanks darling!" I jump up and notice that her water for the first kitten has broken...on my cream sofa. I pick her up and gently place her in her birthing box I prepared that she refused to stay put in unless I was sitting next to it, petting her.

She was looking at me and walking around the box and I told her "Look girlie, you are TOO BIG to fit on my lap, have them here. I'm here". She meowed at me, then settled down. Then stood up again. I saw that the first baby was coming out feet first and then Angel started SCREAMING... LOUD. I've never had a cat scream like this before. but in a few minutes the baby was out and so tiny, just like it's grandma Isis. Well, excecpt that the little one has big ole testicles. hah. OBVIOUSLY A BOY. Angel was good and did everything without my help on this one.

30 minutes later at 10:07pm the second baby came out, and this sucker is HUGE and she was tired so I cleaned the sack away from the mouth and nose so it could breathe. That's a freaking HUGE kitten, I tell you. And cream-YAAY!!- But a dark cream, and I think it could end up being a Himalayan. I hope so. Daddy Max is a flame point Himmy(and is pale cream) and I was dying for a tortie Himmy like Max's mama. Fingers crossed. Both of the kittens jumped on the nipples and started nursing immediately. Good, good.

And then...... nothing. So I wait........ and .......... nothing. And I touch her sides and I can feel a kitten on either side still in there in the birth canal, her abdomen still hard and distended with the occasional contraction under my fingers. But......

No baby. And I wait some more. I get fed up waiting and make myself watch 'The Grudge' (hated it) and kept running to check on Angel and.......

Nothin.

2:30am rolls around and frankly, I'm beat. I told her butt goodnight and conked out.

I wake up this morning? FOUR kittens. And they are all ok. and eating. And Angel is curled around her kittens purring, a bloody mess. Poor Angel, I know she doesn't like being dirty. She is pure snow white and enjoys her bath and blowdries, so this is sucky for her.

Yes, I'm sure it is pointless to say that I've already been kissing on the kittens, but, well, I have. 3 cream and the one itty bitty white one. And their fur is a different texture, each from the other. I could just eat em up they are so cute, mewing every now and then. Awwwwwwwww kitties.

One delivery down. Two more to go. Miss Scarlett is next.

Hee hee... I'm a grandma.

Meow!

R.I.P.

I recieved some bad news during a phone call from my Mama this morning. As happy as I was to hear her voice on the other end of the line, I had a feeling it would be bad news.

Mama called to let me know that a very special lady, Ruby, had passed away yesterday (29th). Ironically it was the anniversary of my Mama's mother, my Grandmother Mildred's death also. Even more of a coincidence, Z's father passed away the same day, same year as Grandmother Mildred. You know? I'm disliking this date more and more as the years pass.

Ruby was like a Grandmother of sorts to me. She was supposed to be my step-grandma as my Mom had been with Ruby's eldest son and engaged for ages. Mama and Ruby stayed close, even though the engagement, for whatever reasons, didn't work out and the son and Mama remained friends. Ruby has been a part of my life since I was 17. I can't belive that she is gone.

I really loved Ruby to pieces. She was a real character and lots of fun to be around always with good stories and she and I, when together, would chuckle and she would nudge me with her elbow and lean real close when telling me a particulary juicy part of any story and a cute little smirk on her face. Ruby loved to talk about cooking with me too. She was soft spoken and kind, but didn't take anyone's antics either. She had her limits!

She had been ill and in a nursing home for some time now. At first doctors thought she had Alzheimers, but apparently, she had something similar, but not Alzheimers, yet the memory was affected. Then she had a stroke or two (the most recent earlier this month) and a couple of blood diseases that destroyed her heart and its valves. Mama was seeing her regularly and making sure she had what she needed and was being taken care of properly. She'd go and fix her hair, do a wash and set for her when she could and put on a little makeup for her. I wouldn't want to be one of the nurses or caregivers if Ruby wasn't being treated properly and my Mama found out about it. Nuh-uh.

Poor Ruby had been suffering for a while and even in the end, Mama said she was fighting to live, against the inevitable. Mama was with her, right next to her when Ruby breathed her last and my heart broke and I started balling like an infant when Mama told me that even as she was in her last minutes, Ruby was crying, tears silently running down her cheeks, not wanting to go, even though she was in pain. That's our Ruby, a real fighter, even till the end, the poor darling.

Bless her soul, I thank God that at least she isn't suffering anymore. She is free from the pain and from the morpheine injections that apparently didn't do much of anything for her towards the end. That is some consolation to me and to her children I hope that she is at peace now in a place far better than where she left. My only regret is that she had to suffer at all. Such a wonderful lady deserved to go quietly, painlessly, in her sleep.

Rest in peace, Ruby. We will all miss you, your smiles and that twinkle in your eyes.

The Refill

I have a funny little anecdote to share with y'all today. It is yet another instance of "I HAVE to blog this!!" as I am laughing my tail off and gasping for breath.

This evening Z had our two male friends, A (of the "you shoulda married ME" fame) and P over. They are both so much fun and so very sweet and just the right bit of naughty.

P started the evening off with Heineken and had a few until he decided to switch over to hot tea after eating. This is where my tale begins.

Towards the end of the evening, A and Z were talking off to one side and P was trapped with Monster sitting next to him and me opposite. Now P loves him some hot tea. He drinks TONS of it daily. So, being the good hostess I am, I noticed his teacup was empty. Up I stood, took the teapot in my left hand and stood in front of him and asked him "Would you like a refill?". He didn't answer me right away. In fact, he looked a little dazed and I thought perhaps he didn't hear me,so I asked again. Then I noticed that he heard me sort of, even though his eyes were still kind of glazed over.

How did I know this? Because he moved his teacup towards me… and held it directly under my right breast. And left it there, hovering. I looked down at the teacup and then at his face and I realized he was totally and completely unaware of what he was doing. In fact, I realized then what the glazed look was for: he was still gazing kind of dreamily at my breasts, which were basically eye level with him.

Because it was completely unintentional, I didn't take offense, but instead tried to establish eye contact with him while I started giggling. P then realized what he had done and jerked his hand back and IMMEDIATELY turned the most amazing shade of red. He started stammering an apology and I said, still laughing, "Well, they were there I suppose…" to which he stammered:'Um, tea… yeah tea, please. I'm sorry…." To which I, with my cheeky side fully raring to go said "I'm used to it...Oh, maybe you wanted milk with the tea?"….

I didn't think it was possible for him to get any redder than he was, but he managed a lovely lobster like red while we both dissolved into laughter.

By this time we were both doubled over with laughter and had a very hard time controlling it. He finally did get his tea and I continued the rest of the night asking him with a very naughty twinkle in my eye and a grin on my face:

"You sure you wouldn't like another refill, hon?" to which he would laugh and become pink again. We would both be chuckling and no one else had the slightest clue what we kept laughing at.

During one of these times, I looked at him and said "Don't be surprised to read about yourself on my blog tomorrow, because I HAVE to blog this!!"

Finally, the visit drew to a close and me, not being one to let a sleeping dog lie, gave him a hug goodbye and said "Well, no more refills for tonight at least. Maybe next time!"

I'm a stinker, aren't I? You know you would have done the same.

I'm not being mean. I've had bosses do this too, where I walk in to hand them something and they trail off mid-sentence, trying valiantly to tear their eyes away. I had one boss that never got used to it.

Mind you, I don't flaunt them or even wear very revealing blouses and tops, they are just there and you'd have to be blind not to see them. I'm used to it. But it still tickles me. It's as if grown men have never seen breasts before. Granted, they are some big breasts, but jeez. Come to think of it, my female friends are completely fascinated by them too. I used to get cornered by my female friends and they would poke them like kids poke a bowl of jello.

It really is comic. Instead of drooling over them, or abject fascination, they should feel sorry for me. It's a bitch to drag these things around, believe me. They weigh about 17 lbs combined, give or take a pound or two. I'm not joking. You have no idea how painful it is on the neck, shoulders and upper back to lug them around. I would be happy if I could reduce them to a D cup. *sigh*

Until then, I just have to bear with them and I really have only one thing left to say on this post…….

"Would anyone care for a refill?"

La La

I thought you all might find this mildy amusing. God knows my daughter does.

God Bless Ashlee Simpson's little lip-synching heart. I have her new single "La La" stuck in my head. It is not only stuck in my head.. I am singing it.... out loud. Incessantly. No lip synching for me, oh no! Much to the amusement of my husband and daughter. Am I singing only the chorus "You make me want to La La..."? Aw Hell no. Of course not! This is ME here people! Its more along the lines of....

"You make me want to La La, in the kitchen on the floor, I'll be your French Maid, when I greet you at the door, I'm like an alley cat, drink the milk up I want more... you make me wanna.... you make me wanna..... Scream.".

Heh.

Yeah darlings, ALL that I sing, over and over again... out loud.... and more of it too. And it DOES. NOT. STOP. And sometimes? I dance a bit too. My life in musical form. Who ever said musicals are not realistic versions of life? That no one goes through life actually breaking in to song and dance when the mood hits them? I mean, Catrina, come on girl and back me up here... I distinctly remember SEVERAL of us singing and dancing in the back at the restaurant we worked at when I was in college. For the hell of it and because we damn well felt like it. So yeah, it does really happen in real life.

So 'They', whomever they might be,(the ones that said that crapola about musicals) were obviously high on something because it is so very obviously not true. I'd like to walk right up to them and say......

"You make me wanna LA LA in the kitchen on the floor......."
